To be fair, my best friend thought this book was funny. He suggested that I read it...
A well-written book, but oh my, not so much funny as furiously far-fetched. What struck me is why do so many people care so deeply about the main character?
Years ago, I stumbled across McNally's debut story collection, [[ASIN:0877457271 Troublemakers]], and really enjoyed it. His followup novel, [[ASIN:0743257774 The Book of Ralph]], was even better, and marked him as a writer who'll always be on my radar.
